On the afternoon of January 31, 2002, Nancy Hensley was found dead in the basement of her home in the East Boston section of Boston. She had been strangled to death with a necktie. Her husband, Kevin Hensley, was indicted for the murder, and, after a five-day jury trial, was found guilty of murder in the first degree on the theories of deliberate premeditation and extreme atrocity or cruelty.
