After waiving his right to a jury trial, John Walker was convicted as charged of second degree battery in violation of La. R.S. 14:34.1. Walker was sentenced to five years at hard labor, which was suspended, and placed on three years of probation. He was also ordered to pay court costs and a $50.00 fee to the public defender's office...
