The defendant, Lee Vester Crow, Jr., was charged by bill of indictment with second degree murder, in violation of La. R.S. 14:30.1. Following a jury trial, he was found guilty of the responsive verdict of manslaughter, La. R.S. 14:31. He was sentenced to serve 26 years in prison at hard labor.
