Following a jury trial in the 26th Judicial District Court, Parish of Bossier, State of Louisiana, Gerald Bernard Ward was convicted of distribution of cocaine in violation of La. R.S. 40:967A(1). He was subsequently sentenced to 25 years at hard labor, the first 2 years without benefit of probation, parole or suspension of sentence....
