The defendant, Perneicia Simpson, was charged by bill of information with 10 counts of second degree cruelty to a juvenile, in violation of LSA-R.S. 14:93.2.3. She pled guilty as charged and was sentenced to serve six years at hard labor for each count. All sentences were ordered to run consecutively, for a total sentence of 60 years...
