Following a jury trial, the defendant, Phillip Orlando Johnson, was convicted of aggravated rape and aggravated kidnapping, violations of La. R.S. 14:42 and La. R.S. 14:44, respectively. He was subsequently sentenced to life imprisonment at hard labor without benefits on each count, to be served concurrently. Johnson appeals his convictions...
