Randolph Armstead appeals his conviction for carnal knowledge of a juvenile and the sentence of ten years imposed upon him. He assigns six errors. See La. C.Cr.P. art. 920(1). Because we find an error patent which requires us to vacate his conviction and sentence, we pretermit consideration of his assignments of error. See La.C.Cr.P. art. 920(2) (patent error is "[a]n error that is discoverable by the mere inspection of the pleadings...
