The defendant was convicted of obstruction of justice. The trial court denied the defendant's motion for post-verdict judgment of acquittal and motion for new trial. Thereafter, the State instituted habitual offender proceedings. The defendant was adjudicated a third felony offender, and the trial court imposed sentence of thirty years at hard labor without the benefit of probation or suspension of sentence.
