The defendant, Trent Lyons, was convicted of second degree murder of Wilbert Decou in violation of La. R.S. 14:30.1. After the denial of his motion for new trial, defendant was sentenced to life imprisonment at hard labor without benefit of parole, probation, or suspension of sentence.
