Romale Pernell, the defendant, was found guilty as charged of the second degree murder of Richard Bruce. The trial judge later sentenced Mr. Pernell to life imprisonment at hard labor without the benefit of parole, probation, or suspension of sentence. First, Mr. Pernell appeals his conviction, arguing that no rational fact-finder could have found him guilty of second degree murder and that, as the remedy, we should enter a judgment of guilty...
