Kenneth Barnes was indicted for two counts of first degree murder, violations of Louisiana Revised Statute 14:30. Following a jury trial, Mr. Barnes was convicted on both counts. As the jury was unable to reach a verdict on the penalty phase of the trial, the court sentenced Mr. Barnes to serve two concurrent life sentences without benefit of parole, probation, or suspension of sentence in accordance with Louisiana Code of Criminal Procedure...
