The defendant, Carlos Vargas-Alcerreca, appeals his convictions of attempted forcible rape and simple kidnapping, and his sentences of seventeen years at hard labor and five years at hard labor, respectively. For the reasons that follow, we affirm the defendant's convictions and sentences.
