The defendant, Troy Ray Lewis, was convicted of possession of crack cocaine, more than 28 grams but less than 200 grams, in violation of La. R.S. 40:967(F)(1)(a), and distribution of crack cocaine, in violation of La. R.S. 40:967(A)(1).1 For the possession of crack cocaine conviction, the defendant was sentenced to 25 years' imprisonment, with the first five years without benefit of probation, parole, or suspension of sentence...
