The defendant, Conner Ray Brown, was convicted by a jury of one count of second degree murder, a violation of La. R.S. 14:30.1. The trial court sentenced Brown to the mandatory term of life imprisonment at hard labor without parole, probation or suspension of sentence. The defendant obtained an out-of-time appeal.
