The defendant, Joseph Perkins, appeals from his conviction and sentence for violating La. R.S. 14:95.1, to wit, possession of a firearm or carrying a concealed weapon by a person convicted of certain felonies. For the reasons that follow we find that the trial court erred in denying Joseph Perkin's request for special jury instructions concerning self-defense/justification.
