The defendant, Brandon Day, was charged by bill of information with attempted simple burglary, a violation of La. R.S. 14:62 and La. R.S. 14:27. The defendant entered a plea of not guilty. After a hearing, the trial court granted the State's motion to use other crimes evidence pursuant to La.Code Evid. art, 404(B).
