This criminal appeal arises from the First Judicial District Court, Parish of Caddo, State of Louisiana. The defendant, Robert Jerome George, was convicted by a unanimous jury of failure to register as a sex offender, a violation of La. R.S. 15:542 et seq. George's motions for new trial and for post-judgment verdict of acquittal were denied. A timely motion to reconsider sentence was denied without a hearing, and this appeal followed.
