The plaintiff, First Alarm Fire Equipment, Inc. ("First Alarm"), filed suit against the defendant, Southland International of Louisiana, Inc. ("Southland"), for damages from the alleged breach of a contract which gave First Alarm the option of "first choice" in purchasing trucks owned by Southland. Southland filed a motion for summary judgment on the grounds that First Alarm would be unable to prove that it sustained any damages from the alleged breach...
