On July 14, 2010, Torie Vidrine, a minor at the time, was driving a vehicle owned by her step-father, Carl Boudreaux, east on U.S. Highway 190 in St. Landry Parish. At the time in question, Alfred Franks, who was driving a tractor-trailer while in the employ of L & B Transport, Inc., exited a parking lot and was attempting to cross the eastbound lanes of U.S. Hwy. 190 in order to turn into the westbound lanes...
