This is an appeal of a judgment in favor of Melvin Spears, Jr., former head football coach at Grambling State University (Grambling). Mr. Spears was hired by Grambling to be its head coach on January 1, 2005. Mr. Spears had a five-year contract of employment with Grambling, with a starting yearly salary of $150,000.00 and incremental increases based on the football team's performance.
