John Love Robinson was convicted of possession with intent to distribute heroin, in violation of La. R.S. 40:966(A)(1).

The defendant was convicted on January 30, 2008.

Subsequently adjudicated as a fourth-felony habitual offender, defendant was sentenced to life imprisonment at hard labor without the benefit of parole, probation or suspension of sentence.

Defendant appealed. His conviction was affirmed, but his habitual offender adjudication...
