The Louisiana buyer of a shrimp boat, Susan Michelle Canon, brought suit in Calcasieu Parish, Louisiana, against the North Carolina sellers, Raeford and Jennifer Millis, when the boat caught fire in Florida while in route from North Carolina to Louisiana. The sellers filed an exception of lack of personal jurisdiction. The trial court entered judgment in the sellers' favor and dismissed them from Canon's suit. Ms. Canon appealed. For the following...
