The defendant, Sullivan Williams, was charged with armed robbery, a violation of La. R.S. 14:64. Following a trial, the jury returned a verdict of guilty of simple robbery, a violation of La. R.S. 14:65. The trial court sentenced the defendant to serve five years in the Louisiana Department of Corrections, at hard labor without the benefit of probation, parole or suspension of sentence, to run concurrent with the sentence he was serving...
