Defendant, Mark Lewis Smith, was convicted by a jury of two counts of armed robbery and one count of attempted armed robbery. He was subsequently adjudicated a third felony offender and sentenced to 66 years' imprisonment at hard labor without the benefit of parole, probation, or suspension of sentence on each armed robbery count and to 30 years at hard labor without the benefit of probation or suspension of sentence on the attempted armed robbery...
