The defendant, Jeffrey Brown, was charged by amended bill of information with possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, a violation of LSA-R.S. 14:95.1; theft of a firearm, a violation of LSA-R.S. 14:67.15; theft (of a law enforcement officer's badge), a violation of LSA-R.S. 14:67; and possession of marijuana, a violation of LSA-R.S. 40:966.
