Defendant, James V. Travis, was charged by bill of information in five separate cases with fourteen counts of theft, in violation of LSA-R.S. 14:67, and one count of issuing worthless checks, in violation of LSA-R.S. 14:71. Defendant initially pled not guilty in each case. On July 10, 2009, he withdrew his not guilty pleas and pled guilty to each of the charges against him. Defendant was sentenced to ten years imprisonment on the 15 counts...
