Following a jury trial, the defendant, Derrick Dewayne Grant, was convicted of attempted second degree murder. He was adjudicated a fourth-felony offender. The trial court sentenced him to the mandatory term of life in prison without benefit of probation, parole, or suspension of sentence. The defendant now appeals.
