The defendant, Delis Pierre, was charged by bill of information with two counts of armed robbery, second degree kidnapping, and purse snatching, violations of LSA-R.S. 14:64, LSA-R.S. 14:44.1, and LSA-R.S. 14:65.1. The State severed one of the armed robbery charges and, after a trial by jury, the defendant was found guilty as charged on the remaining counts. On the armed robbery conviction, the trial court sentenced the defendant to ninety-nine years imprisonment...
