SEXTON, J. (Pro Tempore).
Defendant, Jermaine Williams, was convicted of second degree murder. He was sentenced to life in prison without benefit of probation, parole or suspension of sentence. Defendant now appeals. Since the trial court failed to conduct a competency hearing prior to proceeding to trial, the conviction and sentence of Defendant are vacated and the matter is remanded for further proceedings consistent with this opinion.
