A DeSoto Parish grand jury returned an indictment charging the defendant, Calvin Authier, with aggravated rape, a violation of LSA-R.S. 14:42. Following a jury trial, the defendant was convicted of molestation of a juvenile, a responsive verdict to the charged offense. He was adjudicated a fourth felony habitual offender and was sentenced to serve life in prison at hard labor without benefit of probation, parole or suspension of sentence. For the following...
