On July 29, 2008, defendant, Samuel Gordon, Jr., was charged by bill of indictment with one count of aggravated rape, in violation of LSA-R.S. 14:42. He was also charged by bill of information with one count of second degree kidnapping, in violation of LSA-R.S. 14:44.1. Defendant pled not guilty to both charges.
