This criminal appeal arises from the First Judicial District Court, Parish of Caddo, State of Louisiana. The defendant, Jerome Bryant, Jr., was found guilty, following a bench trial, of simple burglary of an inhabited dwelling (a violation of La. R.S. 14:62.2) and aggravated burglary (a violation of La. R.S. 14:60). Bryant was subsequently adjudicated a second-felony offender and sentenced to serve 25 years at hard labor, without the benefit of parole,...
