Brett Gabriel was employed by the Lafourche Parish Water District No. 1 as a crewman. His duties included installing water meters, performing maintenance, and repairing broken meters and water lines. During the course of his employment he was involved in several work related accidents resulting in temporary knee, neck, and shoulder injuries.
