After a jury trial, Luke Matthew Bivens was found guilty of possession with intent to distribute cocaine, a violation of La.R.S. 40:967(A)(1), and not guilty of illegal carrying of weapons, a violation of La.R.S. 14:95(E). Bivens was sentenced to serve twelve years at hard labor, with credit for time served, to run consecutively to any other sentence. Bivens was also ordered to pay court costs and $1,000.00 to the Public Defender's Office...
