The defendant, Charles Williams, was charged by bill of information with three counts of distribution of a Schedule I controlled dangerous substance (marijuana), a violation of LSA-R.S. 40:966(A)(1). Pursuant to a plea agreement, the defendant pled guilty to one count of distribution of marijuana, with a maximum sentence of 15 years at hard labor.
