This matter comes before this court pursuant to a devolutive appeal. Plaintiffs, Juanita Louise Hays and William K. Hays, Sr., filed a medical malpractice suit against defendants, Christus Schumpert Northern Louisiana d/b/a Christus Schumpert Health System and Dr. Deirdre Barfield alleging negligence in the care of Mrs. Hays.1 Plaintiffs now appeal from a trial court judgment and jury verdict in favor of defendants...
