This criminal appeal arises from the First Judicial District Court, Parish of Caddo, State of Louisiana. Following a jury trial on September 14, 2010, the defendant, Jeryl Henix, was convicted of driving while intoxicated, third offense in violation of La. R.S. 14:98. He was sentenced to a term of imprisonment at hard labor for four years. The defendant was also ordered to pay a mandatory $2,000.00 fine. This appeal ensued. For the reasons that follow,...
