Defendant, Ricardo K. Dukes, was initially charged by bill of information with manslaughter, a violation of La.R.S. 14:31. He was later indicted by a grand jury with second degree murder, a violation of La. R.S. 14:30.1. Pursuant to a plea agreement, Defendant pled guilty to the amended charge of manslaughter.
