STATEMENT OF CASE

The State charged Wayland K. Harveston with two counts of resisting a police officer with force or violence. Harveston pled not guilty at his arraignment; following a bench trial, the court found him guilty as charged on both counts and sentenced him to serve eighteen months at hard labor. The court denied his motion to reconsider the sentence.
