GASKINS, J.

The defendant, Kimberly Nicole Key, was initially indicted for first degree murder; however, the charge was later amended to second degree murder. Pursuant to a plea bargain, the defendant pled guilty to the crime of manslaughter. The trial court sentenced Ms. Key to the maximum sentence of 40 years at hard labor. The defendant appeals, urging that her sentence was excessive. We affirm.
