This is an appeal from a district court's award of damages for the condemnation and subsequent demolition of a home. For the reasons that follow, we reverse.

FACTS AND PROCEDURAL HISTORY

In September of 2005 the City of Baton Rouge/Parish of Hast Baton Rouge ("City/Parish") instituted a condemnation proceeding seeking to condemn and demolish a house located at 840 South 12th Street in Baton Rouge, pursuant to LSA-R.S. 33:4761, et seq....
