On 19 February 2009, in separate cases arising out of the same arrest, the defendant, Jimmy Welch ("Welch"), was charged with possession of 3,4-Methylenedioxymethamphetamine (MDMA/Ecstacy1), a felony, and with possession of marijuana, a misdemeanor. Welch pled not guilty at his arraignment.
