On July 6, 2006, a grand jury indicted Pedro Jose Reloba (Defendant) charging him with one count of second degree murder, a violation of La.R.S. 14:30.1. Defendant entered pleas of not guilty and not guilty by reason of insanity on July 24, 2006. The trial court ordered a sanity commission, and a sanity hearing was held on September 27, 2006. The trial court ordered Defendant transferred to the Feliciana Forensic Facility for an evaluation.
