Following a jury trial, the defendant, Fate Vincent Winslow, was convicted as charged of distribution of marijuana, in violation of La. R.S. 40:966(A)(1). He was subsequently adjudicated a fourth felony offender and sentenced to life imprisonment at hard labor without benefit of parole, probation or suspension of sentence. Due to the trial court's failure to rule on the defendant's motions for new trial and post verdict judgment of acquittal prior to sentencing...
