Following a two-day jury trial, the defendant, Kenneth Jay Clark, was convicted of attempted first degree murder of a peace officer, pursuant to La.R.S. 14:27 and La.R.S. 14:30. The trial court sentenced Mr. Clark to the maximum sentence of fifty years at hard labor without benefit of parole, probation, or suspension of sentence. His motion to reconsider his sentence was denied.
