The State of Louisiana charged the defendant, Kevin Paul Jacobs, with simple burglary of an inhabited dwelling, a violation of La.R.S. 14:62.2. Following a bench trial, the trial court found the defendant guilty as charged. Thereafter, the trial court sentenced the defendant to serve ten years at hard labor without the benefit of probation, parole, or suspension of sentence, with this sentence to run concurrently with any other sentences previously imposed...
