Brian Garner was charged and convicted after a jury trial of second degree murder, in violation of La. R.S. 14:30.1, and received a sentence of life imprisonment at hard labor without benefit of parole, probation, or suspension of sentence, with credit for time served and 30 days of imprisonment in the parish prison in lieu of court costs.
