Mel and Karen Vollenweider ("the Vollenweiders") suffered flood damage to their home, located at 4733 Avron St. in Metairie, LA, as a result of Hurricane Katrina. The Vollenweiders contracted with Helwig Construction Company ("Helwig") for the demolition of the damaged flooring, sheetrock and other materials in the house.
