The defendant, Jason Chad Walstrum, was charged by bill of information with two counts of armed robbery by use of a firearm, in violation of La. R.S. 14:64 and 14:64.3. He pled not guilty. Prior to trial, the charges for an additional penalty for use of a firearm, under La. R.S. 14:64.3, were nol-prossed. The defendant was tried solely on the armed robbery charges.
