On May 7, 2002, a twelve-person jury convicted defendant, Larry Sims, of four counts of armed robbery, in violation of La. R.S. 14:64. The trial judge sentenced defendant to 99 years at hard labor on each count, concurrent, without benefit of parole, probation, or suspension of sentence. The trial court subsequently adjudicated defendant as a second felony offender, vacated defendant's sentence on count one, and re-sentenced him as a habitual...
